I love sounds and music more than any other
intangible I can think of. My favorite musical
instrument is the harmonica. It sings like birds
on a chilly fall morning. There are no wrong
notes and while I'm playing, everything
insignificant just washes away. I am never
alone when I have a good harp in my pocket...

I put some clips on this page; most are older.
I have some
new musical projects that I'll post
here in the future. You can hear my foray into
electronic dance music by visiting the
Downloads Page.

Check out what is here so far and tell me what
you think...
Unless you think I suck! Then,
please leave me with my delusions. They're all
I have!

to expressing the inexpressible is music

Clip #5: Leave Your Hat
On... A Joe Cocker classic
that was always a crowd
favorite with SMB.
Here are some full length Strict Middling Band cuts
from CityFest in Birmingham. Big files.... 5mb
each... could take several minutes to download.
Clip #6: Love Me Like A
Man... Polly Ess sings a
blues classic featuring the
blues sax of Tom Sturdivant
.

Clip #8: Recorded after a sleepless
night chasing non-existent palolo.
No Palolo Blues
Samoans have an annual tradition where they go
collect seaworms called palolo from the ocean.
There are lots of rules as to when the time is
right to go, but on a certain night long after
midnight the worms come out by the millions. I
went palolo hunting... I didn't have much luck
but I got a cool tune..
Experimental Music
Clip #9: I layed down several layers
of harmonica at different tape speeds
to create this "Curious Passion."
Clip #10: An A Capella piece...
created while teaching myself how to
multi-track on computer. I simply call
it "Without."
I enjoy making all kinds of music... even
some that borders on noise. Here are
two long-form experiments from 2003.
Here's a tune I wrote and recorded on my little cassette 4-track. It's a song about wanting things
you're not supposed to have.
Clip #11 Hit The Wall
Clip#7 You Can't Change Me
M
y brother Matt wrote some
words and sent them to me. I
used my guitar and computer
sequencer to add music &
vocals. It's totally EMO! Never
has whining and moping felt so
good! It's one of my faves.
