This is my rune. I didn't design it, rather it came to
me. The rune contains metaphors which I identify
with, the most obvious being its organic flower-like
appearance. This symbolizes earth, growth and the
beauty of life. Second is the circle at the tip of the
right limb. Intersected by a straight line, this reminds
me that though our existence is circular in pattern,
there is sometimes a need to stand up and forcefully
walk cross-current... to go against the grain in order to
realign ourselves with a more natural flow. The last
allegory is that of the Face. The Face works itself into
almost all of my art somehow. I have a sneaking
suspicion this has something to do with my personal
insecurities concerning my appearance and that which
I present foremost to those around me... my game
face, poker face, outward mask... my endeavors in
Impression Management.
It's a little silly, but it's fun to do a little inward
exploring. If you were going to draw a rune that
represented you, what would it look like? Try
drawing one. Go ahead and break out the crayons and
art paper. Grab a Bud and make a night out of it!
Cheers!
Send me a picture of your Rune if you would
like to share.
Warning! Overly-thoughtful material follows!
